Happy Bank Holiday!!!

For some, long weekends usually means more time to eat, drink and be merry (or all of the above!!).  Well for those of us who have indulged, fear not, as I have another total body workout for you, that will put the spring back into your step, so get your stopwatch and favourite feel good tracks as you try out this week's total body HIIT routine!!

This weeks HIIT Workout!

I hope we are looking forward to the bank holiday weekend ?  The sun has come out to play today, so lets enjoy it while we can!  I am going to be delivering a fitness workshop at the Diversity on The Green event in Brixton (Rush Common SW2).  I love events like this which celebrates diversity, so any opportunity to spread some Inspired By Vu love is great!!  My fitness workshop will be FREE and we will be trying out one of my family friendly HIIT workouts as well as my signature “African Candy” routine!!  My workshop will be from 2-3pm, so bring your family and some energy and I will see you there!!
 
Oh, before I sign off, I have a new workout video for you to try!!  I have finally put together videos for the 21 day fitness challenge that we had in May.  I had problems loading videos then, so now we have got them working, I thought it’s a good time to take it back!!
 
Remember, it’s 7 moves, 3 rounds lasting 21mins in total!  I used to spend a long time workout out, but I’m loving my express HIIT workouts, that I can do when I am time short on time and still want to get my sweat on.  Give it a try and let me know how you get on!

May Fitness Challenge - Tough Mums

WE DID IT!!!!!!


I was so privileged to be part of an amazing team of Tough Mums who took on the Tough Mudder challenge. We were joined by the hosts of Good Morning Britain as we all got down and dirty on this muddy obstacle course!!!

I was part of Team Susanna and was so inspred by some of the incredible journeys and life events that my team have been through. The Tough Mums challenge was all about facing fears, overcoming obstacles and working together to get through it!!  Check out some of the highlights from yesterday;

Even though I trained and followed my mudder ready HIIT workout (have you tried it yet?), I dont think you can ever be prepared for being Immersed in that much mud and freezing cold temperatures!! (LOL). But we did and I just want to applaud all those who got involved yesterday and the friends and family who supported every step of the way!

May Fitness Challenge - The Gauntlet Games

Well the day finally came for me to be a gladiator and put people through their paces at The Gauntlet Games!

Apart from losing my voice from all the laughing, cheering and feeling like I have just given birth...It was awesome !!

The Gauntlet Games is all about fun and not fear!! Whether you chose the 5 or 10k challenge, it was like being in the game show Funhouse (only outside and for adults!!) with a few lighthearted
gladiators on the way!

If you are looking for a mud free obstacle challenge then the GG is definitely the one!

I love volunteering and it certainly was great to be a part of such an amazing fitness event which brought together people from varying abilities.

Olympic Fever

Well we are in full swing of Rio 2016 and I am hooked! From the intensity of gymnastics to the thrill of athletics, hats off to the Olympic hopefuls who are chasing for a spot on the podium!

Are you going for gold?

​ Whether you are trying to lose weight, build muscle or increase stamina, are you putting in the work to get the medal that you deserve? Usain Bolt makes winning gold medals look easy. But we only get to see the fruit of their training aka competition day. We don't see the strict nutrition plans, the early morning training runs or the long days spent away from the family.
​
Well it's not too late to get back on track or even get started! Every dream starts with a vision and then comes the plan. Think about what steps you need to take to get to where you want be and start working towards it.

Mudder Ready Fitness Challenge

We have had an amazing week of sunshine of the last couple of days, so I have had a chance to get out and film the videos for the fitness challenges for the next few weeks!!!  This week, I thought I would start off by sharing my Tough Mudder inspired Fitness Challenge.  As I am getting reading for the Gauntlet Games this week and the Tough Mums event next week, I thought I would sharing my HIIT workout that I designed to get me ready.  I'm not using any equippment, but I am targeting those key muscles needed for obstacles races which involve climbing, crawling, runnning.

Remember, you are in control of how hard you want to make this workout.  So whether you are doing an obstacle fun run or not, this is a great work out design to push you to your limits and get the best out of you. 





What about modifications?

All the moves CAN be modified, so if you can't do any of the high impact or activities on the floor, you can try the following instead;

1- Power Walk, alternating high knees (without the jump)
2 - Squat and Standing Wall push ups,
3.-Alternating high knees (keep your arms up like you are climbing a rope)
4 - Standing Oblique Crunches (Knees To Elbow)
5 - Standing Wall Push Ups (or use back of the sofa or park bench)
6- Squat and Tip Toe (when you are on your toes reach up to the sky)
7-Walk, Reach and Squat (leave out the jumping into the squat)

May - Fitness Challenge

I hope you have been enjoying the bank holiday weekend? I had a great afternoon yesterday at the Vegan Festival at VegBar in South London! It wasn't a grand affair like those events in the exhibition centres, but it was so great connecting with other vegans, sampling some tasty treats and finding out what is going on in the community. It's not too late for you to get in on the action, so if you are in the Brixton area, pop into VegBar today!

Ok so I have some exciting news to share!!  I have been selected to participate along with 100 other inspirational mums on Good Morning Britain's Tough Mum's event.  Tough Mums is a 5K obstacle race designed by Tough Mudder.  Now you know I love a good challenge, I mean who wouldn't want to be part of an event that recognises how tough us mums are?! Well but I obviously didn't look at what the obstacles would involve (check out the video right here)!!

Despite the mud, heights, cold and whatever else is in store for me, I am going to face my fears dead on!!  The event takes place on May 18th and will be televised on ITV, so do look out for your girl on TV! (..lol that is if you can recognise me under all that mud!!).

As if Tough Mums wasn't enough, I have also signed myself to be a Gladiator on The Gauntlet Games!!  I have always loved the gameshow Gladiator, so I am SUPER excited and can't wait to see you there!!  I am going to be at the London event in May, so if you are up for a mud-free obstacle course, then sign up at www.thegauntletgames.co.uk
