May - Fitness Challenge

I hope you have been enjoying the bank holiday weekend? I had a great afternoon yesterday at the Vegan Festival at VegBar in South London! It wasn't a grand affair like those events in the exhibition centres, but it was so great connecting with other vegans, sampling some tasty treats and finding out what is going on in the community. It's not too late for you to get in on the action, so if you are in the Brixton area, pop into VegBar today!

Ok so I have some exciting news to share!!  I have been selected to participate along with 100 other inspirational mums on Good Morning Britain's Tough Mum's event.  Tough Mums is a 5K obstacle race designed by Tough Mudder.  Now you know I love a good challenge, I mean who wouldn't want to be part of an event that recognises how tough us mums are?! Well but I obviously didn't look at what the obstacles would involve (check out the video right here)!!

Despite the mud, heights, cold and whatever else is in store for me, I am going to face my fears dead on!!  The event takes place on May 18th and will be televised on ITV, so do look out for your girl on TV! (..lol that is if you can recognise me under all that mud!!).

As if Tough Mums wasn't enough, I have also signed myself to be a Gladiator on The Gauntlet Games!!  I have always loved the gameshow Gladiator, so I am SUPER excited and can't wait to see you there!!  I am going to be at the London event in May, so if you are up for a mud-free obstacle course, then sign up at www.thegauntletgames.co.uk 

For those of you who have completed a Tough Mudder or other type of obstacle race, I would love to hear how you prepared for race day, so leave any hints, tips and tricks down in the comments below.

Experts recommend working out 45 minutes to an hour a day (30 minutes for beginners) for weight loss and fitness.

Hi Johnson. Thanks for your checking out the May fitness challenge. These workouts have been designed for those of us that are short on time and want a HIIT workout. I have had great success (along with my clients) in terms of weight loss and improved fitness using these express workouts, compared to spending double the time with similar results.
There is no reason why you couldn't increase the duration should you want a longer workout :-)
