YOLO meals (Day 4)

Hey Everyone!!

The weekend is here and it is often the time when we let ourselves go and indulge in a You-Only-Live-Once meal!  YOLO meals often come with negative connotations - especially when it is more than one meal!  The truth it's OK to have the occasional treat meal . Fellow instructor Cassey Ho has a great video all about it!

In my house, pizza is often a friday night favourite YOLO meal. However, it is not so easy to pick up a vegan pizza's from most restaurants or supermarkets.  However, I was soooo excited when I popped into Holland and Barratt and found a v-friendly pizza (and some v-friendly meatballs which taste great too!).  With that said, you knew there was a recipe coming, so here it is...... 


 Pizza


For the base...

3 cups Wholemeal Plain Flour (Try a Gluten Free version as a substitute)
1tsp fast acting dried yeast
1 tsp Salt
2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
1 cup of warm water

For the sauce...

Tomato Puree
Chopped Fresh Tomato
Dried mixed herbs
Minced Garlic
Black Pepper

For the topping...
Grated vegan cheese and any of your favourite veggies!!

1. Mix the base ingredients in a bowl and knead to form a dough and roll out

2. Mix all the sauce  ingredients to form a paste and spread on top of the base


3. Top with your grated vegan cheese and v-friendly toppings and bake in a preheated oven on a medium heat for 20mins
